Wave Race is a fast-paced, side-scrolling arcade game featuring a simple control mechanic. Just hit the button to make the arrow character fly up, and let go to make the character drop down. The character moves forward by itself and the player can't stop or change the horizontal speed. Along the way you'll find all sorts of traps, including geometric tunnels filled with walls, spikes, gears and ramps. One crash and the game is over.

Fly up and down with one button
The arrow character is always going forward. Players can only control altitude by holding or releasing the button.
- Hold: The arrow flies upward or remains in a high position.
- Release: The character starts descending.
- Mouse or w or spacebar: Move.
Players have to keep altering the timing of their button presses to keep a flight path that trails ahead of the upcoming terrain.
Read the road before you answer
The obstacles are continuous, the collisions are slow reactions. Players should look ahead to the open space and start adjusting their altitude rather than just looking at the immediate obstacle. Change your altitude to slowly move the arrow through tight spots.
33 main levels
Classic mode includes 33 levels that get progressively harder. The first tunnels gently accustom players to the controls before progressing to narrower sections, awkward turns and more complex arrangements of obstacles. A good strategy is to memorize the hard parts, drill some sections and fix your timing on the flight with each try.
Three Challenge Modes
- Classic: Main mode with 33 levels with clear finish lines. The idea is to ride the whole course without crashing.
- Endless: This removes the fixed finish line and focuses on distance. Players try to fly as far as possible before crashing into an obstacle.
- Race: Puts more arrows on the track . The goal becomes to complete the course and to compete for the best finishing position.
